Only 3 More Months To Go in 2020

Good afternoon,

I hope the start of your fall has been safe and healthy.

We are almost 30 days out from election day, Tuesday, November 3.  Please vote!  You can vote now in person at the Registrar’s Office at Norfolk City Hall, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm and Saturdays October 24/31 from 9:00am – 5:00pm.  Between October 12-October 29, you can vote at four satellite offices including the Berkley Community Center, Jordan-Newby Anchor Branch Library, Lambert’s Point Community Center and the Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch Library. Click here to see voting hours as they vary to allow for voting later in the evening and on Saturdays. Additionally, you can vote in person on Tuesday, November 3 at your local precinct.

The Elizabeth River Trail, a beautiful 10.5 mile trail paralleling the Elizabeth River, continues to thrive with the addition of trailheads and trail amenities.  I had the fun opportunity to participate in unveiling the new obstacle course near Plum Point Park. I “did” the obstacle course as part of the fun event.  Let’s just say, there were some obstacles I delicately avoided or erred on the side of caution. Frankly, I didn’t want to break anything!  I saw real athletes do the course later and that was impressive.  Amenities added to the trail include trash cans and bike repair stations. New wayfinding signage is being placed along the trail as well.

Norfolk Is looking very well with its 3.8% COVID-19 7-day positivity rate. Thanks to all for social distancing, masking and adhering to the Phase 3 guidelines.  I especially want to thank our restaurants and businesses who have fully supported these guidelines.

Have a great October and enjoy the fall weather.  My best to you and your family.

Cheers!

Courtney
